Essence of Gaur
We originated from a small village called Gaur or Gour near the Indo-Bangladesh border. It is believed that the village was founded by Lakshmana and was also known as Lakshmanavati. We migrated to northern India as purohits along with other immigrant farming tribes including the Saraswats, the Khandelwals and the Dhimas.
